Alyssa Glanville

Alyssa has been dancing since she was 8 years old. She started in Lindyhop and Folk Dancing. While she loved dance, she spent a lot of her youth playing soccer and showing horses competitively. It wasn't until she started ballroom when she was 15 that she was first exposed to West Coast Swing. She immediately fell in love with the dance, especially the creative aspect drawn from other dances. Since then, Alyssa has trained in Hip Hop, Contemporary, Jazz, Zouk, and Ballet. She uses her knowledge from those dances to enhance her WCS. She loves travelling and being a professional dancer and international coach.

Katrina Ostrenski
Instructor
Katrina first began dancing at the age of 10, mainly in Modern Jive but also exploring Jazz and Tap dancing. She discovered West Coast Swing 15 years ago and became addicted to this dance style partly due to the creative aspect and also the joy she found on the dance floor. Spending time travelling, teaching, competing and judging both in Australia and overseas, Kat has helped spread the love for West Coast Swing in Australasia and establish our amazing community. She believes that dancing is a platform to self-discovery, inspire and be inspired whilst sharing memories with friends and meeting new ones.  She is always up for a dance, so don't be shy and ask her to dance!

Tim Kenny
All-Star Dancer
Tim Kenny started partner dancing at the University of Michigan after his friends dragged him to a lesson. Totally intrigued, he went all in on ballroom dancing for two years until a friend brought him to Swingtacular, where he was immediately hooked on West Coast Swing given the endless possibilities for musically, improvisation, and partnering in this new dance. After less than three years of West Coast Swing, Tim competes in the All Star division in both roles, placed 6th in the US Open Showcase division with Alyssa Glanville, and has been hired to teach and judge all around the world. Tim loves sharing his joy and excitement for the dance, both in the classroom and on the dance floor, so be sure to catch him for a dance next time you see him!

Dani Cosford
Head DJ
Dani Cosford is Australia’s premier female WCS DJ, DJing both the Aussie and New Zealand circuits. She’s probably best loved for her gangsta tunes and gangsta dress, but enjoys a good acoustic late night set too. With a focus on balancing reading the room, with shaping the room, Dani is known for her ability to create great-flowing sets, which get everyone dancing.

Don’t believe the hype? Come see for yourself...

JP Masson
All-Star Dancer & DJ
JP started dancing when he was five, whilst attending a performing arts primary school. Moving around between ballet, gymnastics, hip-hop and break dancing, at the age of 12 JP's mum introduced him to WCS at boogie by the bay.
Hesitant at first, JP started to fall in love with this dance, so much so that he travelled to learn and compete at events across the globe and while doing so, became the youngest All-Star in the southern hemisphere.

The Truongs
2019 Instructors
The Truongs love dancing. They have danced several styles but more than just dance, they love to coach and teach. After teaching at the inaugural event in 2019, they are back in 2020 to socialise and are available for private lessons. Their passion is helping others take their dancing to new levels and they just won't give up. Anthony and Amanda strive to make everything fun and informative and you will always leave a class smiling and believe the skills that make the best dancers comes from time on the social dance floor - which is where you'll find them both.

Kevin Lawrence
Event Director
Kevin began dancing WCS in 2012,  without any prior dance experience. After several years, he began teaching in Adelaide and became involved in Dance Event Organisation in 2014.

Being the Swiss that he is, it’s impossible for Kevin not to love being organised; His sense of humour is also, well, Swiss, with a little  Australian twist.  With strong focus on social attributes, Kevin has successfully coordinated west coast swing events in Australia for five years and is very excited to host Adelaide's only WCS event.
